'A Soldier's Story' & Cheshire East Reflects’ Family Concert

WW1 SoldierA family day of activities, music and stories commemorating the First World War in the historic setting of Tatton’s Old Hall grounds. A Soldier’s Story: Tatton Park Remembers will include a range of hands on activities, programmed to help you uncover the past by tracing a local soldier and their individual wartime story using artefact handling, family history research, craft, creative writing and storytelling. The Cheshire East Reflects’ Family Concert will include performances from Foden’s Band, Stafford Military Wives Choir and Sacred Sounds, as well as readings and introductions from Archdeacon Ian Bishop, Mayor of Cheshire East Council Lesley Smetham, and Cheshire East Council Leader Rachel Bailey. Picnics, camping chairs and blankets are encouraged. You may also need to consider sun hats, sun cream and umbrellas. A selection of light refreshments, snacks and ice cream will be available to purchase. A Soldier’s Story has been programmed by Tatton Park and is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Cheshire East Reflects is a four-year (2014-18) programme of activities, projects and events created by Cheshire East Council to commemorate the First World War. Find out more here www.cheshireeastreflects.com. Please note: This event will go ahead in inclement weather. Some activities will take place indoors. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead. Some parts of the event may be noisy. There is no undercover area.
