Be Amazed by Science.....at Tatton Park!

Be Amazed by Science at Tatton Park and discover the secrets of science and technology in the Mansion, Gardens and Farm this May half term. Participate in spotting trails around the Mansion and Gardens and then visit the Farm for a different workshop every day, including sessions on cheese making, animal diets and farm machinery. Trails available during Mansion and Garden opening hours, Farm activities scheduled for 2.00pm. Showing Heavy Horses

Meet Tatton's magnificent Shire horses Blossom, Tabitha & Friar and learn how to groom and prepare them for a show, with the help of our expert Jayne Chapman. It’s a real chance to get some hands on experience with our horses including washing out, grooming and even have a go at plaiting the standards into the horse’s manes. Tabitha will be only be 6 weeks away from foaling after a long 11 month wait, so we may possibly have to concentrate on Blossom and Friar on the day. This event must be pre-booked.

Bovine for Beginners

Cow’s come in all shapes and sizes, and with our ‘Bovine for Beginners’ course, we’ll teach you all about them! Whether you’ve got a small holding, a parcel of land or you’re a budding cattle farmer looking for some advice, this is the course for you. Our cattle expert at the farm Sam will go through the different breeds of cattle, general care and feeding of stock, looking after the calving cow and also care of a new born calf. All our cows at the farm are due to give birth around the time of this course so there may even be a live demonstration! This course will be ideal for anyone looking to take on some cattle, whatever the shape or size. This event must be pre-booked.
