Tatton Park Biennial - From 12 May 2012 to 30 September 2012

Tatton Park stages its third Biennial of contemporary art, a laboratory for creative experiment and exchange, with new works commissioned for the Deer Park, Mansion and Formal Gardens. The 2012 edition is all about flying. Flights of Fancy explores the aeronautical history of Tatton and the human urge to fly.

Sheep Shearing at the Farm - From 26 May 2012 to 27 May 2012

Come along from 1.30pm to see our sheep being sheared ready for the start of Summer. The farm staff will be shearing some of our flock daily, so don't miss this opportunity to see them shed their woolly coats. Normal park entry charge applies.

Biennial Events Weekend - On 26 May 2012

Curators’ Tour Leaving from the Kiosk, 2pm This tour involves walking in all weather conditions for 1.5hrs. A Short History of Flight in the Region Rostherne Room, Stableyard 2pm Richard Parr, from Retro Aviation, will give a talk about the flight industry in the North West. Artists’ Talk: Juneau Projects Rostherne Room, Stableyard 3pm Juneau Projects will discuss their work, Gleaners of the Infocalypse, with the Biennial curators and Richard Parr.

Biennial Events Weekend - On 27 May 2012

Curators’ Tour Leaving from the Kiosk, 12pm This tour involves walking in all weather conditions for 1.5hrs. Performance by the Dahinden – Kleeb – Phillips Trio Tatton Park Mansion, 1–5pm In collaboration with Charbel Ackermann the musicians are conceiving a sound environment retracing atmospheres and memories of the stately home and the kind of flights of fancy that the designers of great gardens aimed at. Working the Big Rig Rostherne Room, Stableyard 1pm John Alldread, Manchester Airport Fire Crew, will discuss the airport’s Big Rig and its operations.Performance: Juneau Projects Site 12, Parkland, 1pm The Gleaners – painting competition (further details on Biennial website).
